Small Wedding Ideas for CT
Here's some small wedding ideas for Connecticut or maybe you might even elope?
There are several Connecticut Inns that offer "small wedding packages." Most are inexpensive.
Maybe having a large wedding is not affordable to you, or you don't need all the razzle dazzle (or stress) involved in planning a huge wedding.
Several spots in Connecticut are ideal for a "weekend, get married, getaway." And I might add, very romantic.
The Westbrook Inn
For
instance, the Westbrook Inn in Westbrook CT offers an elopement package
that includes a one hour massage for the bride and groom, vows before a
Justice of the Peace in front of a gazebo, fresh flowers, a wedding cake
for two, champagne, and photo CD. All you need is a wedding dress! Westbrook

The Angel Watch Inn
Another fine Inn in Connecticut where they have small intimate wedding and elopement packages is The Angel Watch Inn. The Inn offers a two night stay in one of their attractive bedrooms, which includes a huge tub to soak in, breakfast and more. For $35 (and on a weekday) a marriage license can be secured and then a Justice of the Peace in Old Saybrook will come and marry you in front of the Inn's huge fireplace, or (weather permitting,) a beach wedding at West Beach. Bill, the owner will take 3 rolls of digital pictures for you and a vhs video. They include a bouquet, a boutonniere, a champagne and cheese reception, and a wedding cake. All for an affordable fee. Deacon Timothy Pratt House
Another possibility for a small wedding or eloping, would be the Deacon
Timothy Pratt House in Old Saybrook. They have seven rooms with canopy beds,
Jacuzzi, fireplace, and you can be married by a Justice of the Peace in
front of the fireplace or in the garden. Or you can also renew your vows
if you're already married. For a romantic stay, try their spa package. Timothy

Is Eloping a Good Idea?
Eloping has such a romantic "ring" to it, but it's not as romantic as you think. We've all seen the movies where the guy gets a ladder, and helps his future spouse climb down and they run away together. But, what happens after that? First you both need to get blood tests, then you need to find a Justice of the Peace that will marry you. This is going to cause time delays, and worry for both sets of parents, because they won't know where you are. And don't forget your other relatives too. They will miss out on the joy of watching their children/grandchildren tie the knot. It's just not a good idea all around, and believe me, I speak from experience.
